Breakdowns
This section reveals how some of the key assets and effects were created for the 2024 Iconiq Growth Investor Update GFX.
Watercolor Effect
This resolution-independent watercolor effect is created with a Shape Layer Path combined with Wiggle Paths and Roughen Edges. The animation is driven by either Offset Paths or directly animating the individual path points.
Paper Texture
Using After Effects shape layers, a resolution-independent paper texture was developed. This asset automatically scales and maintains pattern density based on the size of its composition. The texture comprises three layers: noise effects for grain, replicated shapes with inner shadow for the pattern, and fractal noise luma matte for opacity variations.

Lower Thirds & Stat Overlays
Lower thirds and stat overlays utilize similar animations, where Type Array controls the opacity of each character. The length of each line is determined by the `sourceRectAtTime()` function referring to the corresponding text element. The duration of the Trim Paths animation is calculated using the total number of characters in the line. To ensure consistent easing regardless of line length, Flow's "Apply to Expression" was used for the Trim Paths interpolation.

Opening & Closing Sequences
The Opening and Closing sequences were mostly re-edited from existing animated clips, but several new clips were also designed and animated to brand the sequence for the 2024 event. These three clips and the re-edit were delivered separately so the editor could adjust the sequence as needed.

Titles Cards
A series of Title Cards were designed to flexibly accommodate anywhere from 1 to 3 speakers. Title and Subtitle features dynamic animations and elements, mirroring those used in the Lower Thirds and Overlays.

Digital Environments
Digital environments were designed to support various content and presentation styles. These varied from single-speaker presentations with slide decks to panel discussions with up to three speakers. To provide the editor with maximum flexibility, these assets were delivered as separate PNG layers (GFX, MATTE, and REF), and the backgrounds were provided as 4k loops.
